Skinetica Anti-Blemish Toner Review: Before & After

I came across Skinetica a few weeks ago after hearing a lot of talk about this magical spot treatment product on my twitter feed. Everyone who’s tried it recommended it, so I thought I’d give it a go too and write an honest review about Skinetica Anti-Blemish Lotion. Besides, it’s a rather innovative product, which makes it a good fit for my blog.

I suffered from a face full of acne for many years, but they have pretty much disappeared in the past few months due to a good skincare routine. But I still get the occasional few, especially before an important event, which every one of us must have experienced at some point in life. A lot of the cheap acne products (e.g. Nivea and Garnier) I’ve tried in the past never really worked and a small percentage of them made my skin even worse, but what about Skinetica?

Skinetica claims that traditional acne products contain harsh chemicals like benzoyl peroxide and salicyclic acid (oh, I remember that one), which do kill the bacteria causing acne, but at the same time dry out and cause redness to the skin around it. Skinetica basically says that their ingredients are non-toxic and will not cause any harm to the skin.

“Skinetica contains highly purified water, ethyl alcohol (only 18%), fragrance, and the active ingredient is a new and unique type of organosilane quaternary ammonium compound, engineered and patented by one of the leading physicists in the US.

Skinetica Anti-Blemish and Super Toner* (from £8/70ml)

Product Description:

“Skinetica uses the very latest in molecular science to produce a new and revolutionary product which combines 3 functions in one: anti-blemish skincare treatment, super toner and base to make up foundation. With visible results in 2-3 days and no side effects. No harsh chemicals, non-toxic, non staining, non greasy and can be used under make-up. Safe for all skin types and all areas of the body.”

My View:

(Smell): Although it’s non-toxic, I don’t think this product is natural because it contains a lot of alcohol and fragrance. To be completely honest, it reminded me of a lab with the toner smelling a little bit like a sterilisation fluid blended with soap. No no no, don’t get me wrong, it doesn’t smell bad because it hardly smells like anything at all, it’s just “different” from anything I’ve used in the past. (Texture): There’s nothing special about the texture, it’s got the same texture as water, so you’ll need to use a cotton pad for application.

(Result): the result is surprisingly good! It works exactly like the way it’s described. As you can see from the photo above, the small acne at the bottom pretty much disappeared within 48h and the big one at the top clearly looks minimised. A picture is worth a thousand words! You can see the result for yourself.

I wouldn’t say that it left my face super moisturised, but at least it didn’t make it feel dry or damaged, and I have sensitive skin! I usually apply a few drops onto a cotton pad and leave the pad on my spots for a minute or so. It stings a lot, but it does work! After that I apply a healing gel, like Aloe Vera which helps to reduce the stinginess and redness.

However, what I can’t tell is how this product will affect someone with a full face of acne. I wouldn’t say that acne treatment products get rid of acne forever because the cause of acne is often related to how well your internal organs are functioning, but this product will definitely help to minimise the appearance of acne on the outside.

P.S. You can buy Skinetica Anti Blemish Lotion at Amazon for a slightly lower price than the Skinetica online store prices!

Ooh intriguing. I got a little bottle of this in my latest Miss Glossybox and I've not tried it yet – I'm trialling something at the moment but I think this should be the next one I try, thanks for the photos, it definitely helps see the benefits of the product xx

It's great for getting rid of those nasty one off spots too! Unlike some other products, I didn't feel like I had to trial it for a month to get the full effect, a week was enough to see the difference. Thanks!! 🙂 x

I love this stuff. It's really helped with my breakouts, drying them out quickly so they don't linger for long.
Another great review and some great photos as always!
