Elemis Freshskin Skin Glow Exfoliating Face Wash Review

I received this Elemis Freshskin Skin Glow Exfoliating Face Wash back in July in a rather huge goody bag: #JulyLondonMeetup and I’ve also feature it in the Starting Off Project: Skincare post. Yes, I’ve basically had it for months, but surprisingly there’s still some left! So here I am trying to get a review done before it eventually ends up in the empties bin this or next month! It’s lasted me so long because I only use it once a week and I started using it in August, that something like 15 weeks, which pretty much means that a 30ml sample lasts around 20 applications.
The brand Elemis Skincare itself aims to target those who are more concerned about anti-ageing and are expected to pay more for their skincare products. In order to expand their target group, Elemis created a new series of skincare products under the name Elemis FreshSkin. The majority of you have probably already come across this Elemis sub-brand, but for those of you who don’t know; Elemis FreshSkin aims to help teenagers and young adults with oily and blemish prone skin. Besides, the Elemis FreshSkin range is more affordable compared with the Elemis Skincare range.

Elemis Freshskin Skin Glow Exfoliating Face Wash – Texture
Elemis Freshskin Skin Glow Exfoliating Face Wash Review
Elemis Freshskin Skin Glow Exfoliating Face Wash* (拢12/100ml)
Product Description:
“With a deep pore cleansing action, this exfoliating facial
wash contains cherry powder and jojoba beads to gently polish and help refine
skin texture. Enriched with mandarin and aniseed to soften and condition,
leaving skin clean, brighter and more radiant. BEAUTY TIP: A good daily scrub helps lift the layer of grime that your skin picks up when
you are out and about. Luckily, skin glows when it is scrubbed and stimulated
so you鈥檒l see the squeaky clean rosy face results in the mirror.”
My View:
(Smell): I can definitely smell the mandarin in there!!! It’s got a very strong citric scent with a dash of cherry. When I first tired it, I thought the smell was a little too strong, but after a while, I got used to it and thought it’s really not THAT bad. 馃槢 Anyways, citrus and fruity on the fragrance wheel.
(Texture): I thought the texture was a little gooey when applied to dry skin, but it dissolved easily with water and a little bit of scrubbing. In terms of material properties, the cherry powder helps to thicken the texture, the aniseed adds moisture, whilst the jojoba beads act as the exfoliation particles.
(Result): The immediate result is that it left my skin very smooth and well-moisturised. Nonetheless, if you’re one of those people who suffers from under the surface spots, then this would definitely help! Not immediately, but over time. In fact, most exfoliators help to diminish those to some extent. My skin has definitely improved over the past few months and I believe that this is one of the products that’s helped. Yes, you can use this on daily basis, but I don’t like scrubbing my skin too much and my current face wash products already contain some form of mild exfoliator.

It really helps with getting rid of dead skin and smoothing out the surface without being too harsh, if that's what you're looking for. 馃檪

      Thank you! X

That sounds like it might be fantastic. It might irritate my skin, but it's worth a go! Also I want a Wooden House by the Harbour!

    • November 25, 2013 / 5:46 pm

Thanks! It's actually meant for oily skin, but if you do end up getting one, I think using it once or twice a week would be better than on daily basis x

I do love Elemis, but this is the first time I'm trying out the FreshSkin range. A bit zingy, but it smells nice. x
