My Beauty Compare: Your best friend for beauty

Have you heard of My Beauty Compare? Well, it’s the worlds first beauty price comparison website and it’s based on your beauty profile! My Beauty Compare is super easy to use and without much research, you’ve found the perfect product at the lowest price!
Upon registration, you’re presented with a beauty profile quiz where you fill out a interactive form with questions like skin condition, skin type, hair colour etc… you know the drill! From that, My Beauty Compare will pick out some products suitable for your profile! These top picks will appear at the top of each category, above all the other products! For instance, when I click on Makeup -> Lipstick, Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick, MAC Lipstick, MAC Mineralize Lipstick and Clinique Almost Lipstick appeared at the top.
Not only does My Beauty Compare, suggest products for you, but it also allows you to review products and read other’s reviews. There’s also an open beauty forum for all My Beauty Compare members. So why is called a compare website, when it’s basically a modern version of Makeup Alley? Well, once you click on a product, it’ll take you to the “product profile” page where you’ll see a section called Price Compare. This is where the system suggests the best place, as in cheapest place, to purchase your chosen product.

I thought the concept of My Beauty Compare is fantastic and very helpful. Their website is also very nicely designed; classic and easy to understand. Even though, My Beauty Compare is “your best friend for beauty,” there are still some limitations. The website is much dependent on external inputs (i.e. product reviews and forum), and right now there are not that many reviews. There are a few errors on the website such as “product not found” when you click on a product or the product links being wrong. It also depends on how quickly the price compare section updates because some prices don’t match up with the prices on the given website.
Nonetheless, I am 100% sure that the team behind My Beauty Compare is working very hard to improve their website as well encouraging people to join. My Beauty Compare is still a baby website, but it’s got loads of potentials. I will definitely be thinking about My Beauty Compare next time I purchase a popular beauty product online.

"A few errors" – haha. I registered, clicked on "Get started", and they redirect me to the register site even if I'm already logged in. Then they suggest a Clinique moisturiser for oily skin as my no. 1 product, after I clicked on having sensitive, dry skin. Oh well. Good idea, at least.

Yeah, there are lots of controversies when it comes to these websites. For all we know, Clinique might have paid them to be everyone's number 1. You should send them an email if you think there's a problem about the website, I'm sure they'll find the feedback useful!
