Laura Mercier Mini Caviar Sticks Review and Swatches

This post should have gone up months ago, but with a busy schedule and too many blog posts to write, I’ve only just made space for this feature. I bought this Laura Mercier Mini Caviar Stick Colour Collection in a Harrods sale last year (yes, it’s been that long) because they looked beautiful and I just couldn’t resist buying it! I’m more of a high street girl when it comes to makeup, so this set was a bit of a splurge for me!

Laura Mercier Mini Caviar Sticks Colour Collection

This mini Colour Collection is a limited edition, so it’s not available anymore! However, you can still get the caviar sticks separately in their full sized version. For me, the outside packaging was average and the little grey-ish pattern looks like scratches! Nonetheless, the product itself is very cute and elegant and really lives up to the price.

As a whole, I wouldn’t have picked the exact four shades here, simply because three of them look very similar. But then again, these shades are all very neutral and reminds me a lot Sleek Makeup Precious Metal Palette!

These Laura Mercier Mini Caviar Sticks are meant to be used as eyeshadow sticks, but they work just as well as a highlighter (ok, maybe not Amethyst – the dark brown one). Now a little bit about each of the shades, from left to right:

Amethyst: This is my favourite of the bunch because it’s very pigmented and is simply a very pretty neutral eyeshadow shade. As you can see in the pictures, it’s got a beautiful metallic shine without being overly shimmery.

Sugar Frost: As the name suggests, this shade has a gorgeous frosty-shimmery effect. The base shade is beige or golden if you like to be fancy. It really gives you that shimmery, dewy look.

Rosegold: I use this shade quite a lot as a base shade before applying a powder eyeshadow as it brightens up my eyes and makes my powder eyeshadow last longer.

Pink Opal: To be complete honest with you, I don’t use Pink Opal very often. It’s a little too bright for me, but it does work as a highlighter.

In addition, these Laura Mercier Caviar sticks also last all day long and are perfectly bendable! Besides, they’re easy to carry and fits nicely in your makeup bag.

So have you tried these before?

Amethyst is a stunning shade – I don't think I'd get too much use out of the others because they look almost metallic! I'd definitely pick up Amethyst in full size though!

I love these shades so gorgeous especially Amethyst. I'm currently loving the Kiko eyeshadow sticks, not as luxurious as these but pretty amazing for the price x

These look absolutely gorgeous! I think my favourite is Snow Frost, it looks so special – if only I had the money *whimsical sigh* I agree that the packaging doesn't do much for the products at all, total mismatch there. Still, ahh they're so pretty!

That one is so nice and shimmery! Good thing that they got rid of the packaging! 😛 x

Yes, they're lovely, but I would definitely have loved it more if one of the shades were a little darker. x

It's a shame that they don't do more mini versions. I need to try the Kiko ones, so I can compare. 🙂 x

These are extremely pretty, I must admit I have looked at them before but have had to pop them back. In my experience I've never got on well with eye shadow in this form, they do look really nice though.

Yes, they do take some time to get used to. I prefer powdery eyeshadows too, but these are really good for travelling. 🙂 x
