This time last week, I popped into River Island Style Studio on Oxford Street for a Valentine’s day event. River Island is one of my favourite high street stores, which made this event extra awesome! The event took place at the store itself, but because of the Style Studio design and lay out, it literally felt like that we had a massive tea party at someone’s super stylish living room! Even better, the room was transformed from a “style lounge” to a “romantic lounge” for the evening! the whole place was filled with roses, hearts and balloons. Love was definitely in the aitr! And of course, the hashtag of the event had to be: #StyleWithLove
Upon arrival, I was greeted by the River Island team and was offered a drink at the reception! Naturally, I headed straight to the food area – yep, that’s what happens when you missed a lunch break! Besides, I also have a weird habit of taking more photos of food and objects as opposed to people during these events. Please say that I’m not the only one! Anyways, the canapes were delicious and it definitely kept me going for the evening!
Other than gorging on all the deliciousness and catching up with some of my favourite bloggers, the girls at River Island also planned some activities and competitions for us. The first one was a quiz where we had to answer 20 general knowledge questions related to LOVE. The prize was an outfit put together for us by one of River Island’s stylists based on our Instagram feeds. Seriously, everyone’s outfits looked amazing! I was paired up with Gabrielle (A Glass of Ice) for the quiz and we tried our best to answer the questions, but seriously some of them were really hard! Unfortunately we didn’t win, but I did make a new blogger friend. 🙂
The other game we played was a memory game were we had to remember 20 objects in 10 seconds! The prize was a style session for the blogger & friends. I have no idea how many objects I managed to get right, but 10 seconds is hard and I failed it epically!
Overall I had a fantastic time at the event and learnt loads about the River Island Style Studio. It was really nice seeing India (who invited me) from River Island again and catching up with Laura (Loved By Laura), Annie (Epiphannie), Jasmine (Soeurs de Luxe) and Alina (The Fairytale Pretty Picture). In addition, it was also lovely to meet Charlotte (Charlotte Clothier), Gabrielle (A Glass of Ice), Lee-Anne (Wots her name again) and the girls at River Island.
RI for River Island 😉
Have you ever been to River Island Style Studio before or any other personal styling sessions?
