If you follow me on twitter then you may have noticed that I’ve been busy organising and hosting #BloggersTeaParty in the past few days. A lot of you have asked me about what a Blogger’s Tea Party is and the answer is super simple! There’s nothing more to it than a little bloggers meet up with lots of tea and cakes.
Nadja and I started organising Bloggers Tea Party back in September and to my surprise, we decided that 3-4 weeks was enough to organise a good event. Nonetheless, other than a few “mysterious dropouts on the day (you know who you are)” and a few packages not arriving on time, the actual event went sooo much better than what we had expected. Everyone seemed to have enjoyed themselves, the cakes were delicious, the atmosphere was cheerful and there were lots of mingling, which made both Nadja and I very happy! Read on for all the details!
At 1pm last Sunday, Nadja and I arrived at Drink, Shop & Do with a HUGE box, a suitcase and three wicker bags to set up Bloggers Tea Party. The cab driver, who was really nice even asked if we were moving! That’s how much we had with us. Upon arrival the team at Drink Shop & Do were super generous and helped us with the setup by moving the tables and chairs around and making sure that we had everything we needed. I thought the venue looked really cute and we even had a little room to ourselves. At no time did I feel like that we were in a cafe because it literally felt like having a little tea party at someone’s house!
Other than having a few gorgeously decorated tables for food and drinks in our private room, we also had a pretty beauty bar at the back, a goody bag table on the side and a twitter raffle table by the entrance. I think the beauty bar and raffle prize table were well received and sparked a lot of interests.
The beauty bar, which was nicely set up by Nadja consisted of some Dr. Bronner soaps in all sorts of fragrances, two jars filled with Ciate nail polishes, a selection of Foryou Skincare mini pots and a large amount of envelopes filled with Jason Natural Care samples. At the Twitter raffle table we had a few skincare products from Seascape, a Mr. Jelly Belly Dispenser Machine (& loads and loads of jelly beans) and a Collier Campbell iPad case from Quintessential.
I think all the bloggers agree that the choice of venue was perfect and that the cakes at Drink, Shop & Do tasted D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S! I had a slice of Maltesers cake (picture below) and I managed to finish the whole thing in one go… sooo yummy!
Our first guest at Bloggers Tea Party was Aine coming all the way from Brighton for her first blogger’s event. Then came Renata, Alina and Pao, our most enthusiastic bloggers who have all been very active on Twitter prior to our event. The first table in our little room filled up rather quickly with the arrival of some familiar friendly faces: Bhavna, Alex and Hannah.
I definitely had a lot of fun catching up with some of the bloggers who I’ve met from various events. It was lovely having Lucie at our event as her presence really brightened up the room! I also had the pleasure to see my puzzle solving team, Jessica, Tom and Steph from a Hint Hunt event last month. Needless to say, they all arrived in style. On top of that, I had loads of fun chatting to the gorgeous girls; Nicole, Eilish, Hannah, Thais and Nicola, who I’ve met at previous blogger’s events. Last, but not least is Rebecca, who deserves a special mention as Nadja and I met each other at one the events she organised on meetup.com
In addition to seeing some blogger friends, I also got the chance to speak to Angelica. She was one of the bloggers I wanted to meet the most as she seemed really lovely on twitter and on her blog, but I can definitely tell you that she is even lovelier in real life! It was also nice meeting Jasmine, who looked just as gorgeous in person as on picture! I also met Stephanie and Segun for the first time and I regret not chatting to them more. The last two girls to arrive at our party were Buma and Jasmine, just in time, before the cakes disappeared. 😉
