Eve of St. Agnes Revive & Renew Refining Bamboo Exfoliating Polish Review

Missing the sun and the pretty flowers? Yes, me too! Eve of St. Agnes is a brand that reminds me a lot about the freshness of spring and summer, possibly due to the smell of their products, the ingredients used and their product design. Eve of St. Agnes focuses on skincare products derived from natural ingredients free from SLS/SLES, mineral oil, artificial fragrances or colourings, parabens and animal testing.
I love the intricate design of this brand and the logo certainly looks romantic! However, this specific product came in a beauty box, so no pretty boxes for me this time. There’s plenty of picture on their website, if you’re interested in finding out about about the design aspects of Eve of St Agnes.
Since I’m working my way through my old collection of beauty products before purchasing new ones, I present you: Eve of St. Agnes Refining Bamboo Exfoliating Polish!
Product Description:
“Revive your senses with the uplifting scents of Sweet orange
oil, Green mandarin and soothing Sandalwood essential oils, combining together
in this gentle facial exfoliator. Enhanced with microdermabrasion grade Bamboo, Rosehip oil
(excellent for sensitive skin) and organic Shea butter, this exfoliator will
help to keep skin blemish free, giving it a soft, smooth, renewed
feeling.”
My View:
Smell: Something tells me that this product might have gone off, although nowhere on the jar can I find a best before date. It works just as well as when I first tried it (July 2013), but it definitely doesn’t smell like “immediate fresh and citrus smell with a fuller woody undertone,” which I noted down in this post: Beautecobox July. Now it just smells woody!
Texture: The texture is rather thick and balmy, but it’s nice and easy to work with when applied to damp skin. Like all exfoliators, Eve of St. Agnes Refining Bamboo Exfoliating Polish contains an ample of microdermabrasion beads which helps to get rid off dead skin cells.
Result: Even though I didn’t like the smell (which is meant to be the key selling point) after it’s been left in the cupboard for 5/6 months, I still found this Refining Bamboo Exfoliating Polish slightly amusing. No matter how bumpy my face feels (you know after a long stressful day in front the screen), it’s guaranteed to get rid of the uneven surface caused by stress. So it definitely gives my skin a smooth and renewed feeling. I would like it more if the fresh smell lasted for longer and if it is just a little more moisturising.
So if you decide to buy this product, make sure that you use it straight away. And a little tips for you peeps at Eve of St. Agnes, something like a best before date stamped on the container (even the samples ones) would be good. 馃檪

Behind the Scene Background:
The summer of 2013 at Battersea Park! I’m feeling a bit nostalgia looking at the pretty flowers, but hey, it won’t be long before London turns from grey to multi-coloured once again, in terms of trees and flowers of course. 馃槢
